Dr. Sansbury is an epidemiologist with more than 20 years of public health research experience, including over a dozen years in epidemiology strategy for pharmaceutical products in a wide variety of therapeutic areas.
Dr. Sansbury is the Senior Director, Epidemiology, Oncology Therapeutics at Moderna. Prior to joining Moderna, Dr. Sansbury was a Senior Director and Interim Head of the Global HEOR and Epidemiology group at Ultragenyx. While in this leadership role, Dr. Sansbury was responsible for real-world evidence generation and observational research studies to support the gene therapy and rare disease portfolio. Prior to Ultragenyx, Dr. Sansbury was a Director in Oncology Epidemiology at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Over her tenure at GSK, Dr. Sansbury served as the lead Epidemiologist for several assets in both oncology and respiratory medicine. Dr. Sansbury has conducted epidemiologic research across the drug and development lifecycle, with a focus on real-world evidence generation, health outcomes research, and drug safety for rare diseases, hematologic and solid tumor immunotherapy, and use of inhaled maintenance therapy among COPD and asthma patients. Prior to working in industry, Dr. Sansbury was an Epidemiologist in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
Dr. Sansbury is a Fellow and active member in the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE). Dr. Sansbury received her M.S.P.H and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a postdoc in genetic epidemiology at the NCI.
Dr. Sansbury resides on a small hobby farm in Chapel Hill, NC with her husband, two daughters, and a menagerie of animals. When she is not chasing animals around the farm or cheering youth soccer, Dr. Sansbury enjoys playing tennis and sailing with her family along the coast of North Carolina.
